Forgive us for our lapses; we’ll do better next time - Bawumia to Ghanaians

Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is the 2024 flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He recently asked Ghanaians for forgiveness regarding the outgoing administration's shortcomings.

During the NPP’s Thank You Tour in Goaso, he assured the public that the party learned valuable lessons. If given another chance, they will strive to do better.

“We recognize that we have made mistakes,” Dr. Bawumia said. “We sincerely ask for your forgiveness.”

Speaking to a large crowd, he emphasized accountability and reflection in governance. The NPP appreciates the support it has received over the years and aims to regain public trust.

“This Thank You Tour is not just a celebration,” he remarked. “It is also a moment of sober reflection.” He added that they have listened to concerns and are determined to move forward together.

Dr. Bawumia urged Ghanaians not to lose hope in the NPP’s vision. He highlighted achievements in digitalization, infrastructure development, and economic stabilization despite challenges.

“We will not make excuses,” he stated. “Instead, we pledge to correct our lapses and deliver better governance.”

In closing, Dr. Bawumia called for unity among party members nationwide. He stressed that the 2024 election is crucial for Ghana’s democracy.

“Let us move forward together with renewed purpose,” he urged. “We owe it to every Ghanaian to serve with humility and dedication.”
