George Opare Addo to step down as NDC youth organiser

George Opare Addo, Minister for Youth Development and NDC’s National Youth Organiser, has announced he will not seek re-election in the party’s next executive polls.

Speaking to Citi Newsroom on February 11, 2025, he confirmed his decision to step aside when his term ends, stating no law mandates his resignation but he has personally chosen not to contest again.

Addressing concerns about NDC executives moving into government roles, he dismissed fears of a weakened party, noting that only a few out of 38 executives had been appointed and replacements would ensure continuity.

He assured members that the party remains strong and that those appointed to government positions will continue to support the NDC.
