Tensions within the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have escalated as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Thomas Oppong-Peprah and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt General Bismark Kwasi Onwona clash over missing ammunition and power struggles, Herald reports.
The rift stems from an unaccounted-for arms transfer to the National Security Secretariat, prompting the CDS to establish a Military Board of Inquiry led by Vice Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu.
Reports suggest longstanding friction over promotions, peacekeeping funds, and military procurement, with financial irregularities surfacing.
Allegations of political realignments further complicate the situation.
As investigations continue, the outcome could lead to a Military Court Martial, intensifying the already strained dynamics within the GAF.
