Ghana does not need an LGBT bill to enforce family values - President Mahama tells Catholic Bishops

President John Dramani Mahama believes that promoting family values through education would negate the need for any specific law to regulate LGBTQI issues.

During a meeting with the Catholic Bishops Conference, he emphasized the importance of dialogue and moral education over legal measures.

Mahama argued that Ghana’s cultural and moral values can be better preserved through a curriculum that instills family values in children from an early age.

He noted that the Family Values Bill failed to reach his desk due to legal and procedural issues, and expressed hope that future discussions on the topic would be government-sponsored.

According to Mahama, teaching these values in schools would eliminate the need for legislation, making laws redundant.
