Former Defence Minister and MP for Bimbilla, Dominic Nitiwul, has cautioned against dismissing the possibility of a coup in Ghana, describing such a stance as “mad” and “unwise.”
Speaking on AsaasePa 107.3 FM, he stressed that even nations with strong democratic traditions like the U.S. and U.K. are not entirely immune.
Nitiwul revealed that a coup plot was foiled in Ghana in 2019, underscoring the need for vigilance.
He called for continuous investment in the military and security agencies to maintain national stability.
