South Dayi MP and Appointments Committee member, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has advised Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to seek legal redress if dissatisfied with the vetting and dismissal of chief executives.
During the vetting of Roads and Highways Minister-designate Kwame Agbodza, Afenyo-Markin read a court ruling he deemed relevant, sparking objections from committee members who argued it was unrelated to the ministerial vetting process.
Dafeamekpor criticized Afenyo-Markin for abusing the courtesy of delivering opening remarks, suggesting the privilege be withdrawn.
He urged the Minority Leader to frame his concerns as questions to the nominee or resolve them through legal channels, emphasizing that the vetting was not the appropriate forum for such debates.
The disagreement delayed proceedings by an hour, highlighting internal tensions within the committee.
