Former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame has urged President John Mahama and the Council of State to strictly follow constitutional procedures in the ongoing attempt to remove Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

His remarks came after the Supreme Court adjourned a case filed by Old Tafo MP Vincent Ekow Assafuah, who claims the Chief Justice was denied due process when the President forwarded a petition for her removal without first informing her.

The petition, citing alleged misconduct, triggered a constitutional process under Article 146. Dame emphasized the importance of transparency and fairness to preserve judicial integrity.

Meanwhile, President Mahama has requested a preliminary response from the Chief Justice, which she has submitted.

The controversy continues amid heightened public interest and legal scrutiny over adherence to due process.
