Gov’t not scrapping Free SHS – Deputy Finance Minister nominee assures

Deputy Finance Minister nominee Thomas Nyarko Ampem has dismissed speculations that the government is planning to cancel the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy.

During his vetting in Parliament on February 24, Mr. Ampem stated unequivocally that he is unaware of any such intentions and pledged his support for continued funding of the program.

He also emphasized that President Mahama has assured Ghanaians that Free SHS will not be scrapped, reaffirming his belief in the policy’s continuity.
