Greater Accra Minister pledges 70% streetlight restoration in 50 days

Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has assured residents that 70% of streetlights in Accra will be operational within the next 50 days.

Speaking on the initiative, she emphasized the importance of adequate lighting for security and road safety.

Ocloo revealed that despite challenges, including stolen cables, her office is collaborating with key agencies to accelerate repairs and installations.

She has tasked MMDCEs with tracking progress and expects visible improvements by March 10.

The project aims to address growing concerns over poor street lighting, which has been linked to rising accidents and criminal activities in the capital.
