Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, has announced the return of the National Sanitation Day and the Cleanest City Award to enhance environmental hygiene.

Speaking at her first engagement with the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council, she stated that a Regional Sanitation Day would be observed on the last Friday of each month in line with the NDC’s "Clean Up Ghana" agenda.

Sanitation performance will now serve as a key metric for MMDCEs.

Additionally, her administration plans to implement waste segregation, supply garbage bins, and strengthen local waste management capacities.

Beyond sanitation, Ocloo pledged to improve security, boost local economic development, and support women entrepreneurs.

She urged stakeholders to collaborate in making Greater Accra cleaner, safer, and more prosperous.
