Former Awutu Senya East MP, Mavis Hawa Koomson, has declared her intention to contest for the position of National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2028 elections.

Addressing party supporters during her thank-you tour following her 2024 electoral loss, Koomson likened her political journey to the biblical story of Joseph—turning setbacks into stepping stones.

Drawing on her background as a constituency organiser, she believes her grassroots experience equips her for national leadership.

She called for unity among NPP members and confirmed circulating rumours about her next move. “When you're removed from one place, try another,” she advised, urging party members to support her bid.

Koomson is confident that, with prayers and backing, she will make an impactful return to serve the party at the national level.
