He speaks without thinking – Asare-Bediako tears into Adongo

Broadcast journalist Gordon Asare-Bediako has criticized MP Isaac Adongo. Adongo represents Bolgatanga Central and serves on the Bank of Ghana (BoG) board. He recently suggested that BoG plans to tighten US dollar withdrawals.

During a radio interview, Adongo framed this move as a way to stabilize the cedi. He believes it will help prevent further depreciation of the currency. However, Asare-Bediako disagrees with Adongo's public comments.

Asare-Bediako spoke on Movement TV. He argued that Adongo should not be making such statements. He emphasized that greater discretion is needed from someone in Adongo’s position.

“If the Bank of Ghana wants to issue such a statement, they will do so wisely,” he said. Asare-Bediako warned that careless words could incite fear among the public. This could lead to more volatility in the cedi's value.

He used strong language to express his views. Asare-Bediako said, “He speaks without thinking—like someone who has lost all sense of responsibility.” His criticism reflects a broader concern for careful communication about Ghana’s monetary policies.
