Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a former flagbearer aspirant of the NPP, is ready to contest again. He will run if nominations are opened.
Agyapong's team remains determined despite alleged intimidation from rival camps. He spoke after withdrawing from the party’s ‘Thank You Tour’ due to a stabbing incident involving a supporter.
"I am going to contest; nobody can stop me," he stated. "We built this party and sacrificed for it."
He plans to regroup and improve their chances when the time is right.
The young supporter was stabbed while resisting thugs trying to take cash given by Agyapong's friend.
Agyapong has not responded to allegations but insists on seeking justice for the student. The police have been informed about the stabbing incident, which involved gunfire.
"In my normal style, I would have retaliated easily," he said, referring to the assailant.
Agyapong noted that attendees at his events have faced threats. Some individuals have spread false stories to damage his reputation and candidacy.
"From Berekum to Kumasi, we are not needed," he remarked. "Let them do their own thing."
His security team expressed concerns about protecting him and his entourage at events.
"My team and I must pull out after what happened yesterday," he announced. "Lives are threatened; I can't ensure safety."
He acknowledged Dr. Bawumia as the flagbearer but decided to stay away from events that may not promote unity.
