Private legal practitioner and social activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has issued a warning to businessman Ibrahim Mahama. He did not hold back in his message.
In an online post, Oliver stated, “I am not Ibrahim Mahama. I may never have that much wealth. But if he listens to broke nobodies, his lawsuit against Bright Simons was a bad idea.”
He emphasized that this issue goes beyond legal matters. It also involves public perception and political consequences.
“A good legal advisor should check your impulses,” he said. “They should not enable them out of deference.”
Oliver made a humble request to Ibrahim Mahama: “I urge him to withdraw it if he values my views. Shalom!”
The background is as follows: Ibrahim Mahama has sued Bright Simons, Vice President of IMANI Africa. He demands GH₵10 million for defamation.
Mahama claims Simons published false statements that harmed his reputation and that of his company, Engineers and Planners (E&P).
The lawsuit cites an article by Simons from April 19, 2025. In it, Simons allegedly claimed E&P faced financial issues due to Mahama’s political connections.
However, Ibrahim Mahama and his legal team deny these allegations. They call the claims baseless and damaging.
