Former First National Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita Desoso, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of being responsible for the unrest in Ghana following the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on Angel Morning Show (AMS) on January 22, 2025, Desoso alleged that the NPP's actions have fueled the recent violence in the country.
"The attitude and behaviour of the NPP have brought this chaos to the country. Since the times of Rawlings, Kufuor, and John Mahama, this has never happened before," she stated.
While condemning the retaliatory actions by some youth, Desoso argued that NPP’s history of similar acts leaves little room for them to accuse the NDC of instigating the unrest. She urged her party members to remain vigilant and steadfast amidst the tensions.
Desoso emphasized that the NDC had maintained decorum during previous administrations, expressing concern over the current political climate.
