I can’t depend on politicians for development – Asantehene

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has emphasized the need for a social contract to drive development in the Ashanti Region, highlighting the critical role of infrastructure.

Speaking during a courtesy call by the World Bank Vice President for Western and Central Africa, he expressed skepticism about relying solely on politicians for the region's progress.

"In terms of development, if we have the infrastructure, everything will be fine. I cannot depend on the politicians for my development," he stated. "I don’t want to depend on them, so let’s have a social contract and then we do it."

The Asantehene's remarks underline his advocacy for collaborative efforts and practical solutions to advance development.
