After the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) loss in the 2024 elections, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid stands out. He is not following the usual trend of apologies or blame.
Dr. Abdul-Hamid is a former CEO of the National Petroleum Authority. He is also a key figure in the NPP. During the party’s Thank You Tour, he expressed no regrets about their campaign or its outcome.
He stated, “The general secretary and others are nice guys, but I am not.” He added that while others may apologize, he feels no remorse.
His comments set him apart from other party leaders who may be more conciliatory after the defeat. For Abdul-Hamid, the NPP gave its all and should take pride in that effort.
He asserted, “We did our best for this country.” He believes nothing John Mahama does can compare to their achievements. “Nothing, walaahi, nothing,” he emphasized.
