Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, a member of Parliament’s Defense and Interior Committee, has dismissed calls for him to provide evidence of alleged cocaine smuggling on a Ghana-bound aircraft, stating that investigations fall under National Security’s mandate.
Speaking on Kumasi’s Pure FM, the Assin South MP maintained that his concerns were valid but emphasized that lawmakers lack the authority or resources to track aircraft or conduct drug tests.
He urged the media to play its investigative role rather than relying on politicians for proof.
With Parliament currently in recess, Fordjour explained that he cannot summon ministers for clarification. His remarks have, however, fueled public interest, prompting demands for official confirmation or denial of the alleged drug shipment.
