Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A Plus, represents Gomoa Central. He admitted on national television to accepting bribes from Zoomlion's CEO. This was to end his campaign for decentralized waste management.
A Plus claimed that Paul Adom Otchere attacked him on TV. To retaliate, he decided to target Otchere's boss, who owns Metro TV and Zoomlion.
He launched a campaign on social media advocating for decentralized waste management. This caught the attention of Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, the owner of Zoomlion.
In an interview with Channel 1 television, A Plus revealed he received large sums of money to stop his campaign. He said this campaign painted Zoomlion negatively.
A Plus recounted how Otchere accused him of taking GH₵250,000 in bribes. He questioned why Otchere did not address NPP parliamentarians receiving money instead.
He stated he started the "Waste Management Must Be Decentralised" campaign to attack Zoomlion. Despite many calls from Zoomlion, he initially ignored them.
A Plus mentioned that everyone was urging him to speak with Zoomlion. He noted that he would not sue Otchere for defamation but hinted at future actions.
He confirmed that he stopped the waste management campaign after being paid by Zoomlion’s CEO for Otchere's behavior on Metro TV.
