I was framed to prevent my running mate nomination – Prof. Gyampo on BBC exposé

Professor Ransford Gyampo has alleged that the “Sex for Grades” scandal was a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation and block his selection as a running mate.

Speaking on 3FM with Blakk Rasta, Gyampo dismissed the accusations, insisting that there was no evidence to support the claims.

“You didn’t see me having sex with anybody, and you didn’t see me doing what they claimed. If there was no student, there was no sex, so what do you talk about?” he questioned.

The political scientist further alleged that the accusations were strategically timed to discredit him. “I was the one selected to be a running mate, but someone around the person opposed it. To prevent that, they threw dust into the air so that by the time it settled, the person proposing me would change their mind.”

According to him, he was exonerated after due process, reinstated at the university, and even promoted. “My people believed I was unnecessarily framed, and that’s why they voted for me twice in elections after the incident,” he said.

Despite the ordeal, Prof. Gyampo says he has moved on, choosing to focus on the lessons learned rather than dwelling on the past.
