It’s about time losers in an election are given something to do – Prof. H. Prempeh

Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh chairs Ghana's Constitutional Review Committee. He believes the winner-takes-all system needs urgent reform.

He argues that election losers should have roles in government. This would allow them to contribute positively to the country.

Prof. Prempeh thinks that if losers are engaged, they won't just criticize the government. Instead, they can focus on constructive efforts.

He suggests that time spent on negative campaigning could be better used.

"We need to change this winner-take-all system," he stated on social media. "Losers should have useful roles instead of campaigning negatively for four years."
