It is only politics that can allow poor people to talk; who born dog? Kennedy Agyepong flares up at Abronye

Tensions rose today, Monday, April 28, 2025, in Berekum.

Former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong clashed with Kwame Baffoe Abronye. Abronye is the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The confrontation happened during the NPP’s Thank You Tour. It overshadowed a moment meant for reflection and unity after the 2024 elections.

Abronye made a veiled jab at Agyapong. He accused him of actions that hurt the party. “Some people say things that destroy the party,” he said. This upset many supporters in the crowd.

Agyapong responded sharply to Abronye's comments. He dismissed Abronye’s authority by asking, “Who born dog?” He added that politics allows “poor people” to speak out.

Agyapong warned that if the NPP "jokes," he would confront them. He claimed no one in the NPP was tougher than him.

He criticized regional executives, including Abronye, for poor election results. The NPP lost several seats to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Bono Region during the 2024 elections.
