Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine has revealed that former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director-General, Kwabena Adu Boahene, may have acquired foreign citizenship due to the massive wealth he allegedly accumulated.
Investigations indicate he possesses two service passports, while EOCO is probing reports of a foreign passport.
Adu Boahene was arrested by EOCO officials on March 20, 2025, upon arrival in Ghana from London Heathrow. His wife’s British passport is currently in EOCO’s possession.
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin condemned the arrest, calling it political persecution. He argued that the detention of the former NSB head undermines democratic principles and fairness.
Adu Boahene was reportedly stopped at Terminal 3 Departures after being informed of an issue with his name during immigration processing.
