Member of Parliament for Damongo, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, has firmly rejected accusations that he made disparaging remarks about former President Jerry John Rawlings in Parliament.
The controversy erupted on February 4, 2025, when a voice from the minority side was heard calling for Dr. Zanetor Rawlings to "sit down" and making the offensive statement, "Sit down, you daughter of a murderer."
Some social media users suggested that Jinapor was behind the comment, but the MP has denied the claim.
In a public post, he expressed his deep respect for the Rawlings family, highlighting the close relationship he had with the late President Rawlings and his admiration for him as a statesman.
Jinapor emphasized that he would never engage in insults or character assassination, particularly against the Rawlings family, and believes in maintaining decorum in public debates.
