Job-for-sale, grassroots neglect led to NPP’s defeat – Dr. John Krugu

Dr. John Kingsley Krugu, the outgoing Executive Director of the EPA and NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Zebilla, has attributed the party’s 2024 electoral defeat to governance failures, grassroots neglect, and the monetization of public sector jobs.

Speaking on A1 Radio, Dr. Krugu criticized unpopular policies like the E-Levy, which caused widespread dissatisfaction, and condemned reports that job seekers had to pay bribes—sometimes up to GH¢15,000—to secure employment.

He noted that the party’s disengagement from grassroots supporters and failure to address local concerns, especially in volatile areas like Bawku, led to voter alienation.

Dr. Krugu warned that effective governance requires transparency and serving the nation, not just political victories. He urged the NDC to learn from the NPP’s mistakes to avoid similar pitfalls.
