Joyce Bawa Mogtari, an aide to President John Mahama, has addressed criticisms questioning the cost of the January 7 inauguration.
This follows inquiries by Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, a former spokesperson on governance under the Akufo-Addo administration.
In a social media post, Mogtari clarified that the event was organized by the Transition Committee, which included members of the outgoing administration. “Inaugurations are funded by government and in this case, the former administration… executed by the State Protocol department,” she stated.
Mogtari further criticized Boakye-Danquah for remaining silent during the previous administration’s alleged financial mismanagement, referencing controversies such as the PDS deal and the National Cathedral project. She urged him to “get a grip,” emphasizing that Ghanaians have rejected his government.
