NDC General Secretary Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey has labeled the government’s new e-gates at Kotoka International Airport a "mediocre" project, arguing it pales in comparison to the NDC’s Terminal 3 achievement.
Speaking on TV3’s New Day on December 4, Kwetey said the Vice-President failed to credit former President John Mahama for Terminal 3, which he described as a landmark project.
The e-gates, launched by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, enable biometric and facial recognition checks for faster immigration processing, using the Ghana Card.
The system was praised as innovative and entirely managed by the Ghana Immigration Service.
However, Kwetey dismissed it as minor in impact, calling for the government to prioritize larger, transformative projects while acknowledging past contributions.
