The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Awutu Senya East, Mr. Seth Sabah Serwornoo Banini, has rejected claims that Kasoa is a crime haven.
Speaking on the Ghana Yensom Morning Show on Accra 100.5 FM, he called these perceptions exaggerated and misleading. He emphasized that the municipality is safe for investors and businesses.
“Kasoa is not the crime-infested town some people portray it to be,” he said. “A few miscreants engage in unlawful activities and tarnish our image.” He added that most residents are law-abiding citizens working hard.
Mr. Banini assured the public and investors that maintaining law and order is a priority. He also denied allegations about land guards being used to remove traders from pavements.
“The Assembly does not condone land guards,” he stated. “We will never use such means for legitimate operations.” He explained that decongesting Kasoa is part of a rebranding effort.
“Our aim is to create a clean, orderly, business-friendly environment,” he said. He accused politically motivated individuals of trying to sabotage these efforts.
He condemned those responsible for illegal waste dumping on major streets. “These acts undermine our rebranding agenda,” Mr. Banini warned.
“We will expose and deal with those behind this illegal dumping.” He urged residents and stakeholders to set aside partisanship.
“Let us work together to change the story of Kasoa for good,” he concluded.
