Dennis Miracles Aboagye is the Special Aide to former Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He has called for a clear separation between legal accountability and political commentary. This relates to the GH₵49 million controversy involving the National Signals Bureau (NSB).
Aboagye spoke on Newsfile on JoyNews. He warned against using sensitive allegations for political gain. Such actions could harm public trust and hinder justice.
“We shouldn’t mix politics with law,” Aboagye stated. He emphasized that credible evidence of misapplied funds should lead to formal investigations, not sensational accusations.
The GH₵49 million issue arose from claims by Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director General of NSB. He alleged that large sums were given to political actors and presidential aides.
These revelations have sparked public debate, increasing calls for an independent inquiry.
Aboagye believes the investigation must be free from political interference to maintain integrity.
“Let us resist the temptation to weaponise these allegations,” he urged. Ghanaians deserve clarity and accountability, which requires keeping politics out of legal matters.
