Nana Akomea, former Chief Executive of the State Transport Corporation (STC), is pleased with Kennedy Agyapong's decision to withdraw from the NPP's ‘Thank You Tour.’
He believes the tour was meant to promote unity. Instead, it has become competitive and divisive.
"The current ‘Thank You Tour’ has turned into an unnecessary competition," he said on Nhyira FM. "It is good for Kennedy Agyapong to withdraw."
Mr. Akomea expressed concern about division among party leaders. He urged them to be models of unity for party members.
He noted that such tours have occurred since 1992 after NPP election losses.
"Leaders in the party must remain united," he stated. "They should be symbols of unity for supporters."
Akomea feels saddened by the significant loss in the 2024 elections. He emphasized that party members need to reflect on this loss.
"We must prepare for victory in 2028," he added. "If you look at the NPP, we are really sad about our margin of loss."
