Kennedy Agyapong Withdraws From NPP's 'Thank You Tour'

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former MP for Assin Central, has withdrawn from the NPP's Thank You Tour. He cited concerns over violence and divisive comments as his reasons.

Agyapong announced his decision during an interview on Good Morning Ghana. The interview aired on Accra-based Metro TV. His withdrawal follows a stabbing incident involving a student at KNUST during the tour.

Details about the incident are unclear, but it raised safety concerns. Agyapong expressed confidence that the tour would unite the party after the primaries. However, he decided to step back due to recent events.

He stated, "I am preaching unity—if not, I would have retaliated." Agyapong aims to avoid further division within the NPP. He also wants to discourage political intolerance among young people.

Agyapong placed second in the NPP presidential primaries. He remains an influential figure within the party and its grassroots supporters. His withdrawal may spark discussions about internal cohesion and public safety in future engagements.
