Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the MP for Akim Swedru, has criticized the Mahama-led administration. He wants the government to explain the sudden return of containers belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). These containers were previously declared missing.
Nyarko points out that this same government accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of wrongdoing. Now, they are quietly admitting that the containers have been found. He questions the credibility of their earlier claims and demands full public disclosure.
“Politics is indeed too complex for ordinary minds,” he said. He expressed frustration over what he sees as attempts to incriminate the Akufo-Addo administration with falsehoods.
He raised several important questions:
- Where were the containers retrieved from?
- What locations were they hidden in?
- Who concealed them?
- How did the government retrieve them?
- When did this happen?
- Were any items missing from these containers?
- Did Mahama's administration fail to conduct due diligence before making accusations?
Nyarko insists that the public deserves answers and accountability. He believes reputational damage was done to members of the previous government.
“I keep saying, in time, Ghanaians will see how deceptive this government is,” he stated. He also called on the government to apologize to those whose integrity was questioned due to what he calls a politically motivated scheme.
