Kofi Tonto slams A-Plus over "bogus" apology to Attorney General

Kofi Tonto, an aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, criticized MP Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A-Plus. He called A-Plus' apology to Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine weak and insincere.

A-Plus had accused Dr. Ayine of corruption but later apologized publicly. Tonto believes this apology lacked sincerity and substance.

On Facebook, Tonto expressed his frustration. He said, “Just imagine this abysmal apology and the bogus rationale under Akufo-Addo.” He noted that neutral voices would have condemned such an apology in the past.

Tonto pointed out that civil society organizations (CSOs) would have rejected it as coerced under the previous administration. He remarked that those who spoke out then are now silent about similar actions today.

He questioned A-Plus’ credibility and described the apology as “abysmal” and “bogus.” Tonto emphasized that the political climate has changed to accept actions that once drew strong criticism.
