The Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi, has sparked controversy after threatening his opponent, Independent Candidate Ohene Kwame Frimpong, ahead of the December 7 elections.
In a leaked audio recording, the MP is heard warning that he would make Agogo unsafe for Frimpong, claiming dominance in political “mafia” tactics.
He also vowed to confront Frimpong and his supporters, cautioning them to “tread carefully” or face his wrath.
This follows a prior leaked audio allegedly involving the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Honourable Oti Boateng, discussing plans to rig the election in favor of the incumbent MP. Both Appiah Kubi and the MCE have denied involvement, with the latter calling his tape doctored.
Ohene Kwame Frimpong, running against Appiah Kubi and Kofi Asamoah of the NDC, faces a tough battle in a constituency historically dominated by the NPP.
