Kwaku Ansah Asare, former Director of the Ghana School of Law, discussed the recent parliamentary vetting on the Joy Super Morning Show, highlighting the balance between law and politics.
He commended the Minority Leader for being consistent and diligent in presenting his views during the session.
However, Asare expressed concerns about certain questions, particularly regarding the ethics of the legal profession.
He criticized the question posed to a lawyer about believing in the merits of a case, stating that such inquiries cross professional boundaries.
Asare emphasized that lawyers are trained to focus on the justice of their client’s cause, not the case's merit, and suggested that questioning a lawyer’s belief in a case violates legal ethics and personal belief.
