Godwin Edudzi Tamaklo, the Director of Legal Affairs for the NDC, criticized former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame. He accused Mr. Dame of lacking integrity in the legal case against Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
On Thursday, Mr. Tamakloe issued a strong statement. He responded to comments made by Mr. Dame. The former Attorney General called on "good men" to speak up about the Chief Justice's suspension.
Mr. Tamakloe remarked that life is a school. He noted that Mr. Dame was determined to convict Dr. Forson without conscience. He added, “Good men, please talk now. Godfred is not a good example.”
These remarks relate to the ongoing debate about Chief Justice Getrude Torkonoo's suspension. President John Dramani Mahama consulted with the Council of State before establishing a prima facie case against her.
Mr. Tamakloe reminded Mr. Dame about Dr. Forson's trial over alleged financial loss related to ambulance procurement during his time as Deputy Finance Minister.
His comments reflect growing criticism from NDC members who believe the case against Dr. Forson is politically motivated.
