Linda Ocloo holds first meeting as Greater Accra Minister after unusually brief vetting

Newly appointed Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, met with staff and management of the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (GARCC) on Monday, February 3, 2025.

This marked her first official engagement since being sworn in by President John Mahama on January 30.

Ocloo’s appointment has drawn attention due to her remarkably brief vetting, lasting only five minutes—an uncommon occurrence in ministerial approvals.

A three-term MP for Shai Osudoku, she assumes her new role with bipartisan support, including from past regional ministers of the opposition NPP.
