Dr. Michael Ayamga Adongo is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Operations at the EPA. He has called for Sammy Gyamfi to be pardoned.
Dr. Adongo believes Gyamfi has learned from his recent actions involving Nana Agradaa. He emphasized that this incident does not reflect Gyamfi's competence or work performance.
According to Dr. Adongo, Gyamfi's contributions to the Cedi's resurgence should be considered in any decision made about him.
In a social media post, he stated, “What comrade Sammy Gyamfi did is reprehensible and offensive.” He condemned Gyamfi’s actions, especially given the recipient involved.
However, he noted that there is no evidence of corruption or incompetence related to Gyamfi’s job. Dr. Adongo believes discussions about his job are unnecessary.
He acknowledged that both he and Gyamfi have learned lessons but will continue to show compassion with decorum. He joined others in apologizing to the people of Ghana and President John Dramani Mahama.
