Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the MP for Akim Swedru, has a message for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He believes electoral defeat should not be seen as an end. Instead, it should be viewed as a chance for growth and change.
The MP spoke about the party's recent challenges. He noted that no political party is free from setbacks. How they respond to these challenges will shape their future.
“Losing power is not fatal,” he stated. It allows parties to correct mistakes and prepare better for what’s next. He referenced the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as an example of resilience. After their 2016 defeat, many thought they would struggle to regain power. Yet today, they are back in control.
Mr. Osei Nyarko praised NPP leadership and their 2024 Presidential candidate. They have acknowledged the party's shortcomings and sought forgiveness from Ghanaians. “This honesty and humility are essential for rebuilding trust,” he said.
He urged party members and supporters to focus on unity and introspection. Strategic planning is crucial for future success, he added. The party must learn from its past to improve in upcoming elections.
