MPs’ research assistants honour Speaker of Parliament

Research Assistants (RAs) of Members of Parliament have honored Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin for his leadership and dedication to improving their welfare.

The RAs presented a citation to Mr. Bagbin, acknowledging his efforts to enhance the conditions of service for the 275 RAs since assuming office in 2021.

Spokesperson Stephen Attuh praised the Speaker for fulfilling promises and urged for further support, including permanent employment, training programs, and transport and rent allowances.

In response, Mr. Bagbin expressed gratitude for the recognition and reiterated his commitment to advancing parliamentary processes and addressing staff concerns.

He emphasized Parliament's critical role in Ghana’s democracy and pledged to pursue initiatives to solidify its foundation.

The citation also congratulated Mr. Bagbin on his reappointment as Speaker for the Ninth Parliament.
