Mahama Ayariga condemns killing of NHIA official

Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, condemned the killing of Mohammed Seidu Akugri. Akugri was an official with the National Health Insurance Authority. Ayariga called for swift justice and urged calm in Bawku.

He described the murder as "gruesome" and "dastardly." He expressed deep sorrow and offered condolences to Akugri's family. “I condemn, in no uncertain terms, the shooting and burning of his body,” he stated.

Ayariga urged law enforcement to conduct a thorough investigation. He emphasized that the perpetrators must be brought to justice quickly. He also asked residents to remain calm during this tragic time.

The MP highlighted ongoing peace efforts led by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene. He commended local youth for their restraint and commitment to peace. “Significant progress is being made; no one should derail this process,” he added.
