John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of harming investor confidence in Ghana's energy sector through non-transparent deals.
He argued that these actions have created instability, leading to a significant decline in crude oil production and driving the sector to near collapse.
Speaking at a meeting with petroleum sector stakeholders in Accra, Mahama pledged to restore investor trust by implementing reforms, increasing transparency, and fostering a stable environment for growth if elected in 2024.
He also criticized corruption scandals and regulatory failures for damaging Ghana’s reputation internationally.
