President John Mahama has raised concerns over the rising threat of terrorism in West Africa, emphasizing regional cooperation.
In a meeting with Mali’s Prime Minister, General Abdoulaye Maiga, Mahama reaffirmed Ghana’s support for Mali in combating extremism. He called for urgent joint action to address the escalating insecurity in the Sahel.
Mahama also announced the formation of Ghana-Mali technical teams to tackle shared challenges and foster closer ties.
The initiative aims to strengthen both economic and security collaborations. Prime Minister Maiga expressed optimism about the partnership, lauding its potential to enhance stability and prosperity in the region.
Mahama stressed, “Our collective security is paramount; we must unite to ensure a safer sub-region.”
