Former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has called on President-elect John Mahama to use his one-term presidency to drive crucial constitutional reforms.
Speaking on JoyNews’, he highlighted Mahama’s unique position to spearhead unbiased changes that address governance gaps and foster national development.
With a report from the Constitution Review Consultative Committee already submitted, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu suggested the review process could begin by mid-2025 after Mahama navigates early challenges like cabinet formation and budget approval.
He emphasized that Mahama’s leadership on this issue could create a development-focused Constitution and leave a lasting legacy.
"This is a rare opportunity to align our governance framework with the aspirations of Ghanaians," Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu stated.
