Former Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has criticized President John Dramani Mahama’s initiative to establish a National Economic Dialogue, calling it a diversionary tactic.
He believes the dialogue is a way for Mahama to cover up what he described as "baseless claims" about inheriting a poor economy.
Dr. Amin Adam emphasized that there is no need for such a dialogue to understand Ghana's current economic situation, as the fundamentals show signs of recovery.
Pointing to strong economic indicators, including $9 billion in international reserves and a growth rate of 6.4%, Dr. Amin Adam argued that these figures demonstrate economic improvement.
He also questioned the effectiveness of past dialogues, citing the failure of the 2014 initiative. He urged Ghanaians to demand real solutions and accountability from President Mahama.
