Mahama is making a genuine effort to do better—Osae-Kwapong analyzes early signals

Political analyst John Osae-Kwapong believes President John Dramani Mahama is focused on reform in his second term.

He spoke on The Forum on Asaase Radio. Osae-Kwapong said, “In the first 100 days, you can do key things.” He mentioned forming a government and signaling policy intentions.

However, he noted that real change takes time. “Sometimes it takes more than a year for citizens to feel the impact,” he added.

Osae-Kwapong believes the President's recent decisions show a thoughtful strategy. This strategy aims to redefine his leadership style and deliver results faster than before.

“I believe he’s making a genuine effort to make his second presidency different,” he stated. The people he has chosen suggest a deliberate attempt to improve.

Ghanaians are closely watching Mahama’s economic policy rollout. Osae-Kwapong called it “a major outstanding policy issue.”

He emphasized that this policy was central to Mahama's campaign message. “We are still waiting to see how it will be implemented,” he said.

While immediate miracles are not expected, the intent behind early moves is important. “There is a feeling that lessons have been learnt,” he noted.

Although transformation won't happen overnight, early signals set the pace for what’s ahead.
