President John Dramani Mahama has taken action against government appointees. They failed to declare their assets by the March 31 deadline. These appointees will face sanctions.
They will lose three months' salary. This amount will be donated to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, also known as MahamaCares. This fund helps individuals with chronic diseases across the country.
In total, defaulters will lose four months' salary. This includes one month’s salary they were already expected to donate.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister for Government Communications, issued a warning on Facebook. He stated that defaulters have until May 7 to comply or face dismissal.
He said, “President Mahama sanctions appointees who defaulted on asset declaration by March 31.” He emphasized that all defaulters must declare their assets by the end of tomorrow or risk automatic dismissal.
