Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to President John Mahama's 2024 campaign, has reiterated the government's resolve to abolish the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy) and COVID-19 levy as pledged in the NDC’s 2024 manifesto.

Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show, she emphasized that the E-Levy, at a 1.5% rate, has been a financial burden on Ghanaians, especially those reliant on mobile money for transactions.

Highlighting its adverse impact, she noted, “For many, this levy is not just inconvenient but stifling.”

She criticized the Akufo-Addo administration for continuing to collect COVID-19-related levies despite uncompleted projects like Agenda 111.

Madam Bawah assured citizens of the NDC government’s commitment to delivering on its promise, saying, "These levies will be scrapped to ease financial strain on Ghanaians."
