Dr. Ing. Ken Ashigbey leads the Media Coalition against Galamsey. He emphasized the need for real reform in governance. This comes as the Mahama administration reintroduces asset declaration enforcement.
“When we say reset, we mean changing to the best,” he stated on The KeyPoints on TV3. He highlighted the administration’s promise to restore integrity in public service.
Ashigbey stressed that impunity will not be tolerated this time. “In the past, people broke rules without consequences,” he noted. “President Mahama is setting a new tone.”
He mentioned a serious approach to enforcing rules now exists. “We have moved from no sanctions to having sanctions,” he added.
Regarding delays in asset declaration compliance, he explained why they are necessary. “The A-G needs time to review appointments made after deadlines.”
“We will get an update from the A-G about actions taken,” he said.
Ashigbey warned the government against using past failures as excuses. He insisted that future standards must be higher and based on substance, not comparisons.
