Legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has pledged to represent former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority, Gifty Oware, if the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) breaches her rights.

Oware was arrested on March 7 over alleged involvement in the Ghost Names scandal.

Kpebu reminded NIB of the constitutional mandate to either release or arraign her within 48 hours, emphasizing that justice must be served without unnecessary detention.

Speaking on TV3, he argued that since Oware voluntarily returned to Ghana, authorities must follow due process.

He referenced Supreme Court guidelines on prompt judicial proceedings, noting that courts have previously sat on weekends and public holidays for urgent cases, including those involving NDC members.
